Officers listened to his threats in his own voice, watched his temper build frame by frame. In court, his practiced smile fractured under the repetition of his cruelty. The judgment didn’t rewind the damage, but it redrew the map. In a smaller home with thinner walls, silence no longer scares her. It answers to her now.
