With every step they took together beneath the gray sky, the past loosened its grip. Grief remained, but it no longer demanded solitude. When he agreed to dinner, it wasn’t surrender or erasure. It was a small, steady choosing: to let love exist beside loss, to let shared pain become shared healing, and to believe that even shattered stories can grow new chapters.
