Martha arrives at a luxury mountain resort for a family reunion in her ten-year-old Subaru. Her daughter Chloe and son-in-law Derek mock her cheap car, clothes, and modest lifestyle, even assigning her a basic room because they believe she can’t afford the resort.

But at the front desk, everything changes.

The receptionist reveals that the entire reservation is under Martha’s name. Then the resort’s general manager greets her warmly and reveals the truth: Martha is the majority owner of Pinecrest Lodge.

Chloe and Derek are stunned. Martha explains that she bought the land after her husband died and helped develop the resort. She had tried telling Chloe about the project before, but Chloe never cared enough to listen.
